CLASS: SYDNEY

Sydney class starships are relatively large personnel transport vessels which employ similar bridge modules and the same warp nacelles as the Constitution and Miranda classes. These ships carry  40 officers and crew and has a 4000 evac limit.  Sydneys are capable of speeds of warp 8.6 for 12 hours, she is defended by two type-VII phaser emitters.

The Sydney Class was been Starfleet's primary transport vessel for nearly ninety years. One hundred and thirty-five were built between 2288 and 2315. The Sydney's continues to provide transport services for Starfleet, and civilian commerce. To date, there are one hundred and ten ships of this class in service.  The Sydney Class,  over the decades, dozens of variants incorporating various new technologies and configurations have been developed by both Starfleet construction contractors and civilian firms. The Class primarily provides personnel transport between secure Federation worlds and facilities.
